Friendship Dinner

The night of the Granite Bay Christmas Concert is when our Pathfinder Club heard the extent of the losses suffered by the Paradise Pathfinder Club due to the recent fire. Before the fire, there were 50 Paradise Pathfinders/Staff planning to go to Osh Kosh this August. A number have since relocated to other areas of Northern CA, but many have committed to attending and reuniting in Osh Kosh as the Paradise Pathfinder Club.

With an earnest passion to help the Paradise Club, the Granite Bay Pathfinder Club decided to change its Valentine's Dinner to a Friendship Dinner, where all of the net proceeds would be donated to the Paradise Pathfinder Club. Over $3,000 was raised that night and several donations came in before the dinner.

The dinner is modeled after a five-star restaurant and the Granite Bay Pathfinders served each guest. The menu included Glazed Meatballs on Polenta, Cauliflower Bisque with Toasted Sesame Oil, Wedge Salad with Ranch Dressing, Strawberry Limonata Sorbetto, Steak Triangle, Scalloped Potatoes, and Buttered Garlic Green Beans with Shallots. Dessert was the final course and was Chocolate Chip Raisin Bread Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce, vanilla ice cream, and coconut whipped cream.

Our guests enjoyed music provided by Brooke, Michelle, Ethan, Jennie, and Nathan. We are grateful for and thank the following Pathfinder parents/staff that made this night possible: Kim W., Michelle and Steve, Otavio, Pixie, and Oksana. Special recognition to Jennie and George, who decided to help our club that night and, without them, our dinner would not have been as successful. The evening ended with singing Blest Be The Tie That Binds followed by the donations. Eden said of the event, "I loved serving!" This attitude of serving was expressed by many Pathfinders, and being served by the Pathfinders is one of the highlights of the dinner. The guests were served by Eden, Hansen, Tiger, Anastasia, Charlene, Chris, Nathan, Elijah, Keziah, Tevin, and Tanner. Chantal and Ashley provided child care of the guests' children during the dinner.

As a token of appreciation to our Club, the Paradise Club gave us several of their 2019 Chosen Camporee Club pins. We look forward to sharing our blessings with the Paradise Pathfinder Club. A sincere Thank You to all the guests who attended and to every one that donated.
